MOVIE REVIEW: The Social Network

The Social Network - 2010
Director - David Fincher
Starring - Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake
Screenplay - Aaron Sorkin
Plot - Story revolving around the foundation of social networking site, Facebook and the issues that were created between the co-founders and contributers.

It took me a while to get around to watching The Social Network. I finally got to watch it on Saurday night quite a while after many others had seen it.  Before I watched it I had gotten many great reviews from people I knew reguarding the film.

The plot and the way the story was driven was the best part, I loved the linear time line of events constrsted with the non-linear after events (the lawsuit scenes).  Plot was great, gives people a great insight into how everyones favourite social networking site was established. I felt though that the film ended kind of prematurely but considering that most of the lawsuit information in terms of settlements and agreements was not released to the press I guess it was good to leave that out of the film and just conclude with 'wht happened to everyone' in writting.

The visuals were fantastic, I didn't realise that this film was so visually beautiful in terms of cinematography. The direction was good, most of the scenes added to the value of the story.

The star power was great Eisenberg and Garfield were pefect in their roles, showing major star potental in the two young actors, who are well and truely on the way to more and more success in films (Garfield cast as the new Spiderman and Eisenberg in well.. almost anything everyone wants a piece of him since this film.).  The supporting cast consisting of Justin Timberlake and newcomer Armie Hammer were just as fantastic, Timberlake's role was well suited to him and Armie was alright I guess, his lack of experience showed (not many 6"5 actors out there for one).

Overall, very good film, not everyone will like it though only certain people will.

Best Part: Andrew Garfield's face.
Wrost Part: Should of had more Justin Timberlake.

8/10.
